Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn met back in 1967. Then the aspiring actor was only sixteen, and his future wife was five years his senior. Their first meeting was on the set. The young people had a nice chat, exchanged a few friendly phrases and went their separate ways.
Yes, yes, they did! What did you think, they immediately fell in love with each other and started to live happily ever after? In fact, it hadn't been until 20 years later that they met again on the set of Swing Shift in 1983.
At that time, Hawn had already had two unsuccessful marriages, and Kurt had one divorce. The actress had two children from previous relationships – 3-year-old Kate and 5-year-old Oliver. Russell also had 2-year-old son Boston.
Despite all this, they decided to start a relationship. Hawn grew fond of her colleague on the set, but, as she claims, it was not the kind of love from which the head goes around.

When the club closed, they started to think about where to go next. Goldie was staying at her mom's apartment at the time, as her house was being renovated after the flood. Kurt lived at his sister's house. Just imagine, at the time they were pretty popular, high-paying actors!
Then they decided to take a drive around the city at night, and toward the end of the trip, Goldie suggested that her colleague take a tour of her house. Of course, Hawn warned it was being renovated, but then they went inside and were alone...
One day in an interview, Kurt Russell admitted that he was very worried about how Hawn's kids would treat him. Then he decided to be frank and told them: "Just because I've fallen in love with your mom, does not mean that I'll love you. And just because I found myself in your life doesn't mean you have to love me. Let's be honest with each other and be ourselves." Hawn's children appreciated Kurt's sincerity and soon began calling him dad.
Since then, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell never once parted! The couple has been together for almost 40 years, but they never tied the knot.
